100 yea old antique rug

Pictured below is a 100 yea old antique rug which had unfortunately been damaged by a spillage of Hammerite paint. The chemical composition of this paint is very volatile as it contains solvents, white spirit/kerosene, Xylene, Butanol and anti corrosive pigments and other additives.

Therefore a very gentle cleaning method had to be employed using specialist cleaning solutions so as to not damage any fibres. gentle blotting and cleaning on multiple occasions and then cleaned and extracted effectively avoiding any colour run due to the age and composition of the rug.

The customer was extremely overjoyed at the outcome as demonstrated in the photographs.
