We are asked quite often if we clean hard floor surfaces such as wood, lino or LVT (luxury vinyl tiles) such as Karndean and Amtico. The simple answer is yes, and it is significantly more effective than cleaning with a domestic mop and bucket using supermarket brand detergents.

 

Here’s why:

 

Using store-bought detergents with a mop and bucket may make the floor seem clean at first, but it's not truly clean. In reality you're just moving the dirt around, causing it to settle and solidify into gaps and making the need for additional cleaning arise sooner than expected.

The first 2 photographs; taken by our technician Lee show heavy accumulation of food oils, traffic soiling and loss of sheen to the floor. The third photograph, after a thorough deep clean demonstrates that heavy soiling and grease has been removed leaving a thoroughly clean and dry surface in preparation for our specialist LVT flooring sealer.

 

The final 2 photographs were taken after the LVT sealant has cured, any remaining residue or high spots were removed by Lee. This leaves a completely cleaned and restored floor with a light sheen.

 

As you can see this demonstrates the difference between a domestic and professional clean.

As a footnote we would also like to comment on the effect of ultraviolet light on surfaces. UV light causes significant damage to most hard floor surfaces through a process called photodegradation. This leads to fading and discoloration as well as the breakdown of structural integrity, hardness and cracking. Our LVT coating contains UV inhibitors recommended by manufacturers ensuring protection and longevity.
